We had a quick chat with Yoga Girl Anna, - ‘Professional rude Gal Yoga teacher’. About some of the books she reads (has read) that have aided in her being the bad ass rude gal yoga teacher that she is.

Check out her recommends below, plus a little about the Yoga Girl herself.

Can you tell us your creative work and passion - “I am a Yoga teacher, Nail artist and Brand partnerships manager”

How long you have been practising and teaching Yoga for? - Yoga - I qualified almost 4 years ago now

is reading important to you? and why? - “back before socials (2000 B.S) I was a harry potter and noughts and crosses fan, waiting for the sequels to drop now I read more to educate and train myself. The ability to zone out to long-form text is real brain training in our short hit world”

Do you recall the first book you ever read? - biff and chip (remember these?)

Give us 4 fun/random facts about yourself :) -

Ty Dolla Sign has been my no.1 Spotify artist three years running - must be all the features he does

I have ADHD, BUT I am always early to everything

And if I could live anywhere it would be Tokyo, all neon lights and kawaii craziness is my idea of a dream.

Check out Anna’s list of recommended reads.

Enjoy.

A little life - Hanya Yanagihara

Deep perspective / fiction
Not an easy read. And the only fiction book on here! The story is so heartbreaking complex and a gut-wrenching. It touches on anxiety, mental health, death, race and unity. A perspective changer. You think about the deep fabric of peoples past and how everyone you meet is remarkable. I cried.

How not to die - Michael Grege

Category - Food & Health
Exposes the medical system and the twisted band-aid approach we apply to our health. Backed up by studies and science, it’s a no brainier to change how you see food and pharmaceuticals. A sucker for studies, reports and actionable advice I came away with notes and a new shopping list after reading this!

I didn’t get the WHY of meditation until I read this book. It's new-age science mixed with a bit of to be confirmed mumbo jumbo but it reminded me of the inarguable capabilities of the mind, like self-belief, placebo effect and self-healing. Learn about how you can re-programme your brain, learn to trust your intuition and use the brain how it was meant to be used! The book version of limitless

You are a badass at making money - Jen Sincero.

Category - Money

‘Spiritual people shouldn’t place importance on money. It's shallow’ Actually no!!! This book tore away a lot of my ingrained perceptions keeping where I was and really opened up my mind to a taboo with money I didn't even realise was holding me back!

Atomic habits - James Clear

Category - Self-help/education
This book really hits you with some sobering gems like 'the rest of your life begins every day'. We blindly glide through our routines 95% of the time on autopilot. Zero fluff, this book gave me actionable steps to make conscious changes in my life, every time you choose you to step toward or away from a potential habit which shapes you. Choosing wisely frequently becomes a reflex! Definitely read.
